Notice of November 3, 2026 General/Special Election
NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE WARE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
NOVEMBER GENERAL/SPECIAL ELECTION
STATE OF GEORGIA—COUNTY OF WARE
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to House Bill 1566 (Act 680) of the 2026 Session of the Georgia General Assembly and applicable Georgia law, a Special Election will be held in conjunction with the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the Ware County School District the question of approval or rejection of a homestead exemption from Ware County school district ad valorem taxes for educational purposes.
The ballot shall have written or printed thereon the following:

Shall the Act be approved which provides a homestead exemption from Ware County school district ad valorem taxes for educational purposes in the amount of the full assessed value of the homestead for residents of that school district who are 75 years of age or older? |
All persons desiring to vote for approval of the Act shall vote "YES," and all persons desiring to vote for rejection of the Act shall vote "NO."
If more than one-half of the votes cast on the question are for approval of the Act, the homestead exemption provided by the Act shall become effective January 1, 2027.
The Special Election will be held in conjunction with the Tuesday, November 3, 2026, General Election at the regular polling places within Ware County. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
This notice is published pursuant to Section 3 of House Bill 1566 (Act 680), 2026 Georgia Laws, which requires the date and purpose of the election to be published once a week for two weeks immediately preceding the election in the official organ of Ware County.
